EcoFootprint Romania Project

The main goal of the ECOFOOTPRINT Romania project is training teachers on the topic of ecological footprint and on how to familiarize and sensitize their students to environmental issues and protection. Furthermore, the participants will be made aware that by modifying some of the aspects of their current lifestyle, they can actively participate in the long-term protection of the Earth,  and that by making more sustainable decisions from this point forward, they will have a significant contribution to the health of the ecosystem.
We aim to train 60 teachers from a minimum of 20 secondary schools from 25 percent of Romanian counties, who already have the necessary tools to make their pupils familiar with the protection of the environment.
 

OUR KEY GOALS 

ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT CALCULATOR

An ecological footprint calculator calibrated for Romania has been developed, including solutions and information on how to reduce our individual footprint; 

EDUCATION 

 Training materials (offline & online) are currently being developed to train teachers on how to use the ecological footprint calculator and how to make their pupils acquainted with climate topics and the need to protect the environment; 

Accredited trainings: approximately 60 teachers will be trained on how to use the ecological footprint calculator and how to make their pupils acquainted with climate topics and the need to protect the environment; 

COMMUNICATION

A  dissemination campaign is being developed and implemented in Romania, Slovenia, Germany and Austria, including a conference for around 2500 teachers, video materials and the presentation of the project’s results in front of around 120 attendees.

Trebuie să facem ceva pentru a proteja viața pe planetă și ar trebui să începem prin a învăța tinerii despre importanța acestui lucru. Trebuie să punem tinerii în contact cu natura din nou și să-i încurajăm să o respecte.
